- Stairs
- High traffic
- Anti slip
A hard-wearing anodized aluminum nosing that armors the step edge on high-traffic or basement stairs. Its fluted top adds grip exactly where slips happen and it installs over tile, vinyl, wood or carpet, but the metal look will not blend with a wood-toned floor, and 36 in sticks mean seams on a wide staircase.
Pros
- Anodized aluminum shrugs off heavy foot traffic and impacts that chip a vinyl or wood nose
- Fluted top surface adds slip resistance right at the step edge, where falls happen
- Works over almost any flooring - tile, vinyl, wood or even carpet - as a universal hard edge
Cons
- The metal look does not blend with a wood or LVP floor the way a color-matched nose does
- Sold mainly in 36 in lengths, so wide stairs need multiple pieces and visible seams
- Screw-nail installation and cutting aluminum to length is more work than a click-in vinyl nose
