- Lawn weeds
- Crabgrass
- Dandelions
- Selective control
The lawn-specific weed killer: a 2,4-D/MCPA/dicamba concentrate that kills crabgrass, dandelions and 200+ broadleaf weeds to the root while sparing listed turf grasses. As a concentrate it's cheap to cover a whole lawn and rainproof in about an hour. Because it's a real herbicide, follow the label exactly, wear PPE, keep it off garden beds and calm-day spray only, since drift harms other plants.
Pros
- Kills broadleaf weeds and crabgrass down to the root while leaving listed lawn grasses unharmed
- Concentrate is far cheaper per square foot than ready-to-use bottles for treating a whole lawn
- Rainproof in about an hour and works with one application on many weeds
Cons
- Contains 2,4-D and dicamba, which are toxic to nearby garden plants and drift on wind, so it demands PPE and calm, careful spraying strictly per the label
- Not selective in flower or vegetable beds; it will damage anything that isn't listed lawn grass
- Can injure the lawn itself if over-applied, or used on the wrong grass type or in high heat
