Our verdict
These solve different problems. OMRI-listed 20% vinegar is a fast contact burndown — great for young weeds in cracks and beds, with no soil residual so you can replant sooner, but it usually doesn't kill perennial roots and the weeds return. Glyphosate is systemic and travels to the root, making it far more effective on established perennials and large areas at low cost — but it's synthetic, non-selective, and subject to label PPE, re-entry rules, and ongoing debate and local restrictions. For small hardscape spot-jobs and an organic approach, choose vinegar; for persistent deep-rooted weeds over a big area, glyphosate is more thorough. Both are non-selective and corrosive/hazardous in their own ways, so wear PPE, avoid drift onto desirable plants, and follow the label.
